What it does

Image to Text extracts written text from images using OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Upload a photo, screenshot, scan, or any picture containing text — get a plain text result you can copy and edit.

How to use

Drop or select an image — drag a file onto the drop zone, or click to browse. Supported: JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, GIF, and other common formats.
Choose language — pick English, Russian, or Auto for mixed-language images.
Click Extract Text — the OCR engine analyzes the image and returns the recognized text.
Copy the result — use the Copy button or select text manually.

Language support

Three recognition modes are available:

English — optimized for Latin text.
Russian — optimized for Cyrillic text.
Auto (EN+RU) — recognizes both English and Russian simultaneously; use for documents or screenshots with mixed languages.

First-run download

On first use, the OCR language model (~5 MB per language) is downloaded and cached in your browser. Subsequent uses load instantly.

Accuracy tips

High contrast images produce the best results — black text on white background works perfectly.
Avoid blurry or low-resolution photos; text must be legible.
Printed documents, books, and clean screenshots give near-perfect results.
Handwritten text is partially supported but accuracy varies.

Privacy

Images are processed entirely within your browser. No files are uploaded to any server. No account required.
